I am going to sell my 2000 model Porsche Boxster S. It has 31K miles, excellent tires, Arctic Silver paint, grey full leather interior, premium sound, ally trim package, metrol blue top, sport design II 18" wheel, car cover, bra, all books, manuals and records. Its a very nice car. $31,500.

No real great reason for selling except I bought a boat and I really like older cars better. May shop for a Jaguar E-Type series I coupe.

PM if interested. If this sort of post is "bad" my apologies and a moderator feel free to remove it.

Awww shutup already. Your too tall, mine has premium sound so the center console does not come out so easy so your knees would bang and you would hate it.

What did you buy? I forget.

Boxster resale values will definitely change With the new 987s out . Only a slight bump in price from 2004 prices along with the fact they threw in many options like PSM, make the 2005 987s actually cheaper. My brother traded in his 2004 S for the 987S and they gave him about 43,000, Car only had 2,100 miles on it and cost him 63,000 9 months prior (wow, that's Maserati like deprecation). They told him they were going to have a tough enough time getting rid of the new 2004's that were still on the lot. And after owning a 2001 S now a 2004 Spyder can tell you Dale, you made the right choice

I just bought a 2000 boxster S about 4 months ago, and I love it.

Got any parts you want to sell or any aftermarket goodies??

So far so good. I'm in the process of moving so I haven't had time to write anything up. Only real problem is that this sucker doesn't like to wake up in the morning. It definitely stumbles until it warms up. I have been told that there is a fix coming. Have you heard anything?

Thought I read something on the Maserati Forum about an update for the Cambio that helped cold morning driving. My GT had no problem here in the Northeast driving right up to the end of Dec with temps in the teens. My M3 SMG also needed to get some fix for this. So maybe it's more an issue with Sequential gear boxes. Just be glad you can drive yours. March 9th and 5 more inches of snow and 10 degrees here today

Good luck. I sold my almost identical boxster S 6 months ago, couldn't get 27k$ WITH a 4 year warranty. Ended up cashing out the warranty and trading in the boxster for 24k$.

Boxster prices have tanked. If you look on cars.com, dealers are selling boxster s with 20k miles in the high 20's (ask). Don't mean to be negative, and wish you all of the luck in the world. I tried to sell mine for 9 months, got 2 phone calls...(autotrader.com). Folks on PBBB.com are frquently touting that they boght a 2000 s for 25k$ or so...its not unusual. Now I am in the midwest, and that might have a lot to do with my difficulty selling.

Value will tank further when the new model comes out...either way, hope you have better luck than I did!

    Cheers!

Sounds like it won't be too long until they hit sub $20K.

At that price, it would be tough to turn one down over the '86-'88 911 that I want. It will probably be much easier to find one that hasn't been molested, too.

    Hmmm....

Well I am not selling because of some dire need. IF I cannot get a decent price then I will just keep it.

I bought it 6 months ago for $31,500. At the time they were selling at the Florida wholesale auctions for around $30K with dealers picking them up at that price. $25K for a low miles very nice 2000 S? Sounds like a steal.

Dealer only giving $42K for a sub 5k miles 2004 model? RIP-OFF. I would have told the dealer to blow.

What you guys are saying is the Boxster S models are going to be at Miata prices soon. I have a very hard time seeing that.

The new 987 is not going to have that big an effect on the older model 986 S cars. Someone considering dropping $30K on a 2000 model is probably not going to look at $65K for a new one as a viable choice. They are not comps due to the price. Now I agree that the new ones will have a big impact on a 2004 model, as why would anyone pay $58K for a 986 when they could get a 987 for not that much more. But a 2004 only worth $42K? Baloney.

Well, I think now that spring is here you are in a much better position to get a good price. When I was trading mine in, dealers were selling in the high 20's. I just checked autotrader again, and the cars are listed in the low 30's-mid thirties. Not sure what they would sell for. Nice weather makes all of the difference...

I was wrong he just told me he got $43k, Yes still does suck. But he traded in just as Winter was starting here in the Northeast and also for him to sell it on his own the first $2150 above $43k would have gone towards the increase in sales tax amount without the trade. For what you will get for your car you probably would be better off to keep it as a fun car

If boxster prices continue to tank, I'd like to pick up a manual '00 or '01 and stuff a 3.4 into it and get that fabled 330 odd horses out of the thing.

I've 53K on my clock. It's a good daily driver in heavy traffic or when i'm too beat to drive the Italian things.

RUF will do the 3400S conversion for you here in Dallas for around $30k, but that gets you roughly 310 HP.

You want to talk about a seriously fun car...
