Thanks guys,as you can probably tell, i'm pretty green!
    I'm not a manic,but i've always had a hard-on for the 308(the Magnum influence...)
SO...... would a 328GTS be the best choice?
    AND,
    86-88 328 GTS
    86-89 328 GTB
    86-89 GTB Turbo
    86-89 GTS Turbo

    i got this from the models list,are the TURBO's 328's ?
if they are,how come they're cheaper?

    Ta

Never seen a turbo. But, you will love the 328. Little more power and far more durable. Try to find a good 89, the value is higher and I can attest that the car is solid. I have had the 308, 328 and now a 348. I like the room and feel of the 348 but I always have a twinge of regret when I see a clean 328. Go for it!

Well, I dig the original raw look of the 308GTB over the 328...
That is why I own one.
But if I were into the 328, I would look at an 88 1/2 model.
It had all the other 328 refinements including the updated 348 style suspension, but lacked the crappy ABS style brakes that the 89 had.

I think the dudes talking about the GTB/S turbo made from 1986 to 1989, the one with the identical body of the 328 but with the lower air duct on the panel before the rear wheel. I think they were only made for the Italian market. When i first saw one i thought it was a 328, two litre tusbo i think.

The only thing in life you "need" to do is to die. You'll be just fine w/o the ABS. Much of your answer lies in personal taste. Do YOU like the looks of the 308 or the 328? Do YOU want more of a "raw" feel....308, or do YOU want more of a refined more reliable car...328. What is your budget? Do YOU like the GTS or GTB better?

Chancer, enjoy your search! It is one of fun part. Then you'll be little frustrated that you may not be able to find the car you want. I wanted '89 GTB, but bought 87 GTS instead. Try to test drive ASAP so you have better feel for each models.
Norwood can put turbo on 328, but it is very costly & difficult. (I asked to James after I rode on 308 w/ turbo, which was very fast!)
ABS is your choice. I wanted one, too, but some people who helped me then advised it is not really necessary for street driving or you learn to drive better w/out ABS first, then w/ ABS, you really appreciate what it can do.
328 is a cool car (most F-car are COOL!)

I have an '84 308 and just like the lines over the 328 which I felt was "rounded" out(?)to the original, I definitely prefer my 308 interior, more retro with the toggle switches instead of the plasticy knobs, kind of plain. Now if you want more horsepower then go for the 328, but the qv's are just as reliable. Saw an '85 308 at Moroso recently with about 103,000 miles on it.

Any year 328 is great, go for the condition of the car vs year.

I have an 86 328 and I love it, in stock form its very fast you can spin the rear tires with ease in low gears, I currently have a K&N filter + a test pipe which may be good for 10-13hp, I am currently installing a bored/polished out Throttle Body with heat shielding which should turn it into about 300hp.

Ferrari made significant changes over the 308QV, made it longer and wider, much more modern and beautiful IMO, the interior is right out of the GTO along with the steering. They also made the 328 handle better, loose some weight and faster.

My paint guy who has a Jag Xj220,a Vector and Diablo mentioned to me he owned a 308QV and after taking my car for a ride commented the 328 is a totally different car than his 308QV

The 328 series are the last hand made high production Ferraris, beginning with the 348 they were made by robots, I prefer the 328 styling over almost any modern Ferrari, except the F40 and GTO, people are enthralled with the car when they see it, I don't drive mine very much but get people snapping pics while I am driving it or fueling up.

I think the air conditioning is better in the 328s.
