How long does it take for the oil pressure light to go out & the oil gauge to move on first start after not running for several days ? Shell Helix 10/40 air temp.around 5C .

Even after a few weeks of not running - my oil light goes off just after start up - so lets say 1 - 2 seconds (Aka - once it is started - no light).

The oil pressure also moves up immediately on start up as well - the temp on the other hand take a while to move off the peg - I would say 5 minutes in that temp.

If your oil level is low - this will effect your pressure as well - I would check the levels when warm to make sure you are over the min line...

Same for me...no light longer than 2 seconds and the oil pressure shoots up to 80+
