360 reliability???

    can anybody tell me how reliable a 360 is compared to a 355???? or just how a reliable a 360 is in genreral?

    is the 360 engine and f1 gearbox a reliable unit???? i have heard of some bad stories of constant engine failure and constant clutch wear.

    the f1 will have more issues , esp. over time.....i would get a 6 speed manual tranny...they are relatively bullet proof...mine was more reliable than my 1996 carrera and 2006 carrera s......

    There was a tech session at Wynn Ferrari and they had a laundry list of issues the 360s can have, one that was particular was the front wishbones are shot and need replacing at 6000miles, then header issues, weak F1 clutches that last 10k miles max and other issues as well, Ferrari still hasn't fixed the sticky switch gear problem ether.

    I wasn't at the tech session myself but these issues were quoted by some attending, they basically ripped the 360 model apart for potential problems and it wasn't particular to the 360 on the rack but the whole model line.

    Point is all Ferraris have problems to some degree

    There is a little truth to all of that but mostly they were just lubing you up for that big insertion.

    I have owners with 35k on F1 clutches at 50% wear and most of my clients with over 20k miles have never had control arm issues.

    I can sell far more if it makes people happy but then I would just be like them.


    Ferrari may not have solved sticky switch gear problems but that is only because they never listened to the guys in the field that fixed many of the problems long ago. At Ferrari information only flows one way.

    Yeah same problems here with our underground machinary fleet ;) I'm assuming that shiit flows in the same direction there as it does here :p

    Also what many do not understand is that many of these sessions are much like a Naval barrage before the landing. They are just softening up the enemy to make the kill easier.

    I agree thats why I don't go to them and would be very hesistant to take one of my cars and see a similar laundry list of problems with them, this tech session they specifically wanted 360s as I recall.

    As has been mentioned before many of the clutch wear issues could come down to driver use and abuse more than the actual clutch itself. Ultimately when you get a group of tech guys together to discuss issues they have found its a bit like who has the biggest!!!!!!!!!!!.

    My '01 360 was very reliable, and so was the transmission but, then, I had a long talk with the technician and read the book cover-to-cover.

    Yours are worn out Mike....You are lucky to be alive.....It is a symptom so subtle no one but myself and a very few other superhuman mechanics can detect it.


    You better have it towed in now so we can replace them.


















    You have not been complaining about the noise.

    I know and at the dealer I put on a few of those dog and pony shows too.

    I have always found it far better to educate clients on a one to one however. The dog and ponies are really for sales and PR.
