I wanted to start the thread. Does anyone have any information about the 488 CH? I assume it will have the EVO kit, and a base price of $345,000 USD. I assume the specs are the same as the 458 CH but with a new turbo engine. The transmission will be the same.
I am excited about the fact that someone will figure out how to increase the horsepower with a calibration of the ECU on the new turbo charged engine.

Isn't it too early for a 488 CH? I mean, of course the factory is already tests something around the new platform but..who really knows?

at the Finali Mondiali in Abu Dhabi last year Ferrari said the new 488 Challenge will not be introduced before 2017. And Evo kit for sure not in the beginning.

assumptions on timing are correct. a few other "TBD's" that are under consideration

    1) "Evo" will happen mid-cycle, but cars are likely to have rear wings and splitters from the start. They have proven to make the cars more stable (i.e. safer, easier to drive) and have also effectively slowed them down. 458C's were getting almost TOO fast. Expect to see the aero parts.

    2) also expect to see all the "active" aero (i.e. Speciale, 488) missing

    3) likely to see more venting and cooling ductwork (incl a bonnet vent)

    Personally, I'd like to see

    4) simplification of the front radiator cage assembly for easier repair (bolt-in vs. welds)

    5) composite, easy to remove body panels (i.e. cheaper)

    6) a somewhat more adjustable brake bias

    7) wider front tires

I heard the 488 CH will be in the Challenge series in 2016 with the EVO kit. I don't see why not. It's just a 488 GTB. I'm sure Corsa Clienti customers are asking for them already.

Pete, the Getrag transmission is another fine product of Germany.

the Gt3 488 will be unveiled in late August or early September. The challenge car will be developed based on the GT3's testing and may include a sequential transmission.

I was told this by people involved in the 488 GT3 development

If you like your race cars red, rapid and (probably) turbocharged, good news: Ferrari has confirmed to TopGear.com that we should see a racing version of the new 488 within the next 18 months.

A Ferrari spokesman revealed we can expect a circuit-ready GT3 version of the new turbocharged V8 supercar at the end of 2016, ready for track work in 2017.

So it’s still a way off, but then the 488 GTB road car has only just arrived. Our source told us the 488 will follow Ferrari’s normal development cycle, with the ‘Challenge’ cars following a year or so after the road car. The 488 set for the Ferrari Challenge series, then, should arrive by the end of next year.

And because both the Challenge and GT3 racers are developed together – and similar in many ways – the harder racing version shouldn’t be too far behind. Though it’ll enter a field of GT3 monsters, too: stuff like the Nismo, Mercedes-AMG GT and BMW M6 GT3 racers.

Not that Ferrari should be too concerned: the current 458 Italia GT racing car has won at Le Mans, the International Le Mans Cup and FIA WEC, as well as delivering drivers’ titles in the FIA GT and GT3 Asia series, drivers’ and teams’ titles in the International GT Open, the Blancpain and British GT Championship.

We’ll have more as soon as it becomes official – though you’ll have to wait a while. Until then, squint at the 488 GTB above. Now imagine it lower, wider, liveried in racing colours and sporting a socking great wing. Whether it’ll retain the road car’s twin-turbo V8 remains to be seen – turbocharging is permitted under GT3 regulations, but many manufacturers choose to stick with natural aspiration – that AMG GT3, for example, uses a big nat-asp V8 where its road-going equivalent embraces forced induction.

Either way, the 488 GT3 should be a monster. Roll on 2017…

    correct Greg

the 488 GTE (GT2) has already done the rollout and was tested last week again in vallelunga. I guess the first race for the 488 GTE (GTLM class) will be Daytona 2016

the GT3 Version will follow by end of 2016. and the 488 Challenge will get more Inspiration from the GT3 Car and will arrive after the GTE and the GT3 Version but very close. first race season for the 488 Challenge in 2017 sounds still realistic like Ferrari said last year.

Any updates or pictures of the 488 Challenge? I heard they will be ready for the 2017 Ferrari Challenge series. Dealers are taking deposits. It's just a 488 with an EVO Kit.
