well I haven't heard any confirmation yet as well and I should meet the criteria as I have VIP status, still own the Speciale and a 488 GT3 and doing Blancpain GT Racing with Ferrari so... I'm still confident... (or maybe they safe for something more exciting ) not all dealers got the customer lists back from Ferrari.

 

..... If you do get to see Sergio, could you kindly punch him in the schnoz for me.

Yes indeed, this is the qualified candidates for allocation, some of them will say yes some of them no....Is not a production number
They just made a list of eligible people.

 

Really tricky slide: Is it the number of eligible customers identified by Ferrari based on the eligibility criteria they set (knowing that not 100% of those eligible customers would buy the car and therefore the production number would be x% lower than the 5,500 units mentioned on the slide) or does 5,500 correspond to Ferrari planned production for the VS model?...

There is a real contradiction between the 'drastic' eligibility conditions communicated by Ferrari to the dealers and the rumour in this forum about 3-4,000 units planned.

 

Everyone should also remember, and chill, that if not allocated now, in all likelihood there will be future cars and of course then there is the ApertaVS

 

Is perfectly understandable if they plan to make 3/4000 cars, not all eligible customers will buy one I guess.
They cannot expect that all people in the list will be interested I guess.
They will not make 5500 cars for sure, they cannot "risk" to have unsold special edition I guess.

I interpret the slide to list Ferrari’s current available clients that meat these criteria and not a planned production count. One has to believe there may be overlap between Challenge and Corsa Cliente owners and VS owners. I believe that these numbers were just generated by doing a query of the registry database. If you look at the time of ownership constraints it would lend itself towards the enthusiast and not “flippers” looking to make quick cash.

Odd that they would specifically mention 488 coupe (GTB) owners and not the 488 Spider owners.
What would be the purpose of that?
Only offer a 488VS to a GTB buyer but not a Spider buyer?...no way, don't believe that for a second.

I suspect that is a very "dirty" database list of owners, and doesn't take into account the owners who are in several, if not all, of those categories.

 

Please read again I'm suggesting it's not a production number

 

List already extends out to 5500 potentially qualified customers why add more with spider owners ??

 

Staggering number of Challenge and CC, over 600?

 

As a 488 Spider owner I am fine with them limiting the 488 VS Aperta version to only Spider owners.....[emoji6]

Yes - my dealer has also confirmed that he has put forward a list of names for a potential second allocation, but with no promises that this will materialise.

I think Andrew's guess of an initial UK allocation of no more than 250 sounds about right. If we assume 225, that would suggest an initial release worldwide of 2,250.

We will just have to wait and hope that there will be more............
