So with the 488 Aperta and 488 Pilota, the Pista will become the least loved and offer opportunities for second-hand purchase :D

How this new marketing strategy was explained to me...

You have to be a driver to get the Pilota. Theirs arrive first. Won't see any of those for sale for a long time...The market will fill with rumors of Pista Pilotas being worth a billion dollars thus further inflating the values of the Pistas and Pista A.

I doubt it will work that way - the 70th anniversary liveries have been "awarded" to special customers, none have been for sale (except the "green jewel" to fuel the rumors that these cars are worth millions) - so a very parallel situation to regular Pista and Pilota. And it's done nothing to support the price of regular used Ferrari.

Soon, very soon. We have been hearing this for more than a month now :D
AFAIK, this car's difference will be only just a unique livery, which really disappoints me:(. Frankly, I was hoping to get a little more than a livery. So I will see what exactly they will be offering and how much more they want to charge. If it is just a different color and livery and will cost unreasonably high, I will most likely skip it and get a standart Pista

I understand current as of the 2017 season. Eligibility not clear for prospective 2019 participants such as myself.

Not only current drivers. Also past drivers for the last 10 years in F1, GTE, GT3, XX programme, Ferrari Challenge and Club Challenge.

What is the least $$ to be a driver? I know of an open spot...was almost too afraid to ask the price.

Best guess, how many Pilotas will be made?

The Pilota will only be made for the lessons at the circuit, not as a sales car imo.

Just striping, colours …. not even lexan windows … am I right ?

The list of eligible potential buyers is less than 400.
Assuming that most of them should already have an allocation for the standard Pista and might switch to the TM Pilota, probably 250ish.
I agree with MuratC that the major disappointment is that this is just a livery.

White number 51 on the side under the scuderia ferrari shields (regular ones)
Italian tricolore livery on the center, white is the main color.
Italian race livery on the side under the number.
    Some black/cf exposed parts.

For me, the less livery the better. I don’t even like stripes. And, I’m a coupe man so the Aperta doesn’t really interest me either. I’m perfectly thrilled to be getting a Pista.

Sorry, no such thing. Just unique livery and maybe some other aesthetic add-ons and carbon parts

I think eligible buyers for the Pilota will add it to their Pista, not replace it.
