what is the: dry weight of a 2001 550? hp/tq? redline? and top speed? i have 3725 for the weight, 475/413, 7000 rpm, and 199mph are these #'s accurate?
without putting the specific car/engine on a scale, a bench dyno, and a track, yes, those are directionally correct. doody.
I think US horsepower was 480 (or maybe 479?) and not 475. Also I thought the weight was 3785? Maybe I am remembering wrong... Otherwise, correct.
Yeah...but I believe for the 2000 model year, due to US emissions issues, that dropped slightly to 479. Had to do with locating the catalysts closer to the headers to make them heat up to operating temps quicker on a cold start. But this makes the header tract shorter & more restrictive, slightly lessening top end HP. Same thing with the BMW M3: same engine, same catalyusts, but US versions have cats attached to the headers, rather than farther back, and are rated 10 HP less.
I always thought it was a function of different standards. US uses SAE, Europe is DIN, so US power ratings always appear lower than the ROW.
