I think a collector is not defined by the quantity but by the outlook. If you buy one ferrari but intend to keep it as a posession for ever, then you are a collector. If you buy one (or more) with a view to using it/them for a time period and then selling you are not.

I think I am a collector 'cause the 308 is staying with me forever
