599 Scuderia?

I don't see that as being a smart move...at least on the base 599.

That's probably an early 599xx test mule...very well disguised.

 

Being driven on public roads?

Yes...that's true. I have seen 430 Challenge cars being driven on the roads around the factory.

These pics are apparently quite recent though. I honestly don't think that Ferrari would disguise a 599XX to such an extent at this point...

No it's not. That's a decidedly different shape -- in every one of the pics -- than the current 599. Also, unless the car is under hard braking, the front end is a bit lower than stock. Given that the 599XX is already revealed, and since this has unique aero (and lack of diffuser, XX suspension, etc.) this seems to be a unique mule.

As everyone can guess, 599 sales have grown pretty tepid lately. With the lack of waiting list, Ferrari is finally seeing a strong incentive to develop variants. I'd guess this is either the next-gen 599 or one getting the Scuderia treatment, probably the latter given the exhaust. The 430 probably lends itself better to the lighter/harder concept but this will certainly be a very, very special Ferrari.

 

BTW, (hope this isn't off topic) has anyone heard of any progress on a 599 Spider yet? I'd guess that'd be an instant sales generator (more so than a Scud variant), though I assume the California might've nixed it from the product plans.

 

not impossible but i guess this car will be LIMITED (as usual) and more "track" oriented like the F430 Scuderia.

 

I don't see it. It doesn't look any different to me. Get a side by side pchop.

 

See attached. As you'll see, there's a curve to the 599 C-pillar wing. The yellow one has been modified. The last photo shows that there's only tape on the lower bit. If you're not convinced, ask yourself why they might put black tape on it in the first place...

Would be interesting in concept but not sure how well a more extreme version would sit with the 599's profile as a GT car.

 

Well, maybe they're just testing some engine parts or new things for the next generations, not every test car is a new model upcoming.

A 599 scuderia would be nice though !

 

Supposedly this is the 599 GTS....lighter with more aggressive suspension and a few more HP.


'599 Scuderia' is a good way to frame it.

Can't see a 599 Scuderia. 599 facelift yes. There will also be some special edition 599's - I know of at least one that is likely to come this year. But the treatment will be more cosmetic than "Scuderia"

 

That would be brilliant. I love how the 599XX looks from the back, the exhausts mounted in the rear bumper. Hopefully if a 599S will be a reality it'll receive the same rear end!

 

i think a 599 Scud or high performance version would be great.

think a 599 sans 600 pound of all the luxury GT stuff and add 50hp, some aggresive aero and stiffen it up...it would be a 599 aimed at the Murci SV. how could that be bad?
