I have a '90 TR and its currently 3hrs away at another location. I can't walk into the garage and check myself and its going to be several weeks before I am back at the car. Can someone tell me if the mirrors fold in on the car? I know that I have never tried but was just wondering if they do or not. Thx in advance.

Over the years I heard the later (aka not flying) mirrors do fold BUT I have never tried it myself to confirm.

My later ('91), low-mounted mirrors fold as a safety feature (so if they get bumped they don't break off), but the rubber gasket gets pretty severely distorted so I wouldn't want to leave mine in the folded position for a long time (i.e., the folded position is something to be immediately corrected rather than like on a modern car where it is designed to be left in the folded position).

I should added that the safety folding motion is only fore-aft (not up-down).
