Hope everyone had a great holiday! I have been waiting since Nov. for an AAV from Eurospares and just this morning I received a call that they cannot supply one. Does anyone know where I might find one or has anyone come up with a facsimile?

I ordered one from Kragen online... they showed stock but sent my money back 3 days later saying they were out of stock and did not expect any more. I've "back burnered" that project for right now. The guys at IAP said they had AAV's on the shelf that "should" work but did not have a direct match. But please let me (us) know if you do come across a source.
    Mine is a Bosch part number: 0 280 140 129

If you're talking about a 308, it's a fairly common Bosch part - Bosch PN 0280140104, also found on BMW 320i 1977-1979 , Porsche 924 1981-1982, Audi 5000s 1979-1981. its around $100 bucks at various online parts retailers.

Thanks for the feed back, I have tried many sources and I find them in stock online but when I order it seems to be out-of-stock everywhere. The search is still on. Tom

If the above information is correct, then you might want to call Porsche Heaven in Hayward California and ask for an Auxiliary Air Valve for a 924 1981-83 models, $20 tops.

    Say Hi to Al.

Thanks Mitchell, I fired off an e-mail to Hayward as soon as I got your post. I can't say if the interchange is correct but Cliff sounds like he knows. This chat room is the best!

Mitchell, the guys in Hayward got back to me today and they have a used one for $75 I found a new one in the UK for 58# including shipping so I went with that one. The guys at partsheaven said the used one tested out good so if anyone needs an AAV 0280140104 there is one used in California. Thanks again. not -so-lost

Cliff is a good guy, and the second man at the shop there. What you should have done is to tell him that a whole 924 is worth $1000 and you are not going to pay him $75 for a used AAV. Then offer him $25 for it. He would have taken it. Times are slow too.

Well, a new one for 58# is a good deal, so good luck.

Next time ,if there is one, I'll say it's for a 924 and not a 3X8, the F word always squares the price!! FYI, this Vauxhall parts shop was on it! The part was shipped the same day and they asked that I let them know when it arrives. I'll always try them for Bosch parts--------------------- will I add a Vauxhall to my stable? Tom

Thanks to all for the help on the part numbers and applicable cross references. I took my old unit (0 280 140 129) to FPS today with the cross number provided here (0 280 140 104) as well as the list of cars it would come from and they had the item, NEW, in stock. $119. Physically identical - can only hope functionally the same.

This forum is a great resource.

FYI, I received a new AAV today with exceptional service from Vauxhallgreenparts in the UK. The interesting issue is that it came in a GM box! They don't deal in F parts but they do have Bosch items so there is another source. A gentleman by the name of Keith took care of me and I received the part in record time. Now if the snow would disapear I would be good to go! Tom
