Does anyone have any experience with the Adam A500, I have the chance of buying one really really cheap and Im thinking of buying it to replace a 340A Ram VII that I use for some short

flights, would I get into too much trouble taking into account that Adam is no longer operating and they delivered very few planes?

    Thanks

I wouldn't, for the reason you mentioned. Support will probably be nonexistent, and parts for anything other than avionics/engines are going to be a real problem.

It might be a great airplane, but unfortunately it is an orphan, so you shouldn't walk away, you should run.

From what I understand, Adam was purchased by an Investor for a very low price and they plan to continue production and support. PM me if you would like some more info and I'll see if I can point you in the right direction.

I've flown the A500. Not impressed......

In comparison to the C340 I can tell you that you will not enjoy the noise, it is a runway hog, and if you have a T-hangar that fits a 340 you can forget about putting this animal inside.

I flew the test mule and top it all off they instructed me not to exceed 160Knots indicated because of an oscillation that would occur (and did) in the tail booms. The test pilots even called it "old shaky"

This of course was the test mule (very rough) so later aircraft may be better.

If you want a performance increase simply get away from pistons (thing of the past IMO). You will never gain ground from a 340 especially a RAM until you do.
