Looking for a vertical standup design. Will mainly be using it for filling tires, blowing off dirt and grime from parts and the occasionally taken off a wheel or two. Will be in a location in the garage so it doesn't have to be moved. Nothing fancy and would rather not spend more than $500. Any suggestions??

I've had an 80 gallon Campbell Hausfield for years and find it adequate for any garage work.

I have a small Nikota that I bought from Kragens a few years back for $99. It's the best tool I've ever bought for the garage. I use it exactly for what you're mentioning. Don't forget that you want the 50' extension air hose, too.

Secondly, treat yourself to a digital F/B/R tire guage from Intercomp: http://www.intercomp-racing.com/detail.cfm?ItemID=83 It's phenominal!

    285Ferrari,
You might want to give a look at one of the portable 'twin-tank' models available from companies like 'Emglo', 'Hitachi', and 'Makita'.
My Emglo is now about 22 years old, much abused, runs fine.
    About $325, IIRC.

    Emglo is now Dewalt

........... Some of the bigger Dewalt compressors have the 5-20 plug so keep that in mind.

I bought this for tires, etc...
