was hoping the boomerang would have been flying at hack this year. it wasnt, neither was the mustang or Fiat G-59 that lives there.
i used to get to see them fly every weekend from my old house, and would never cease to look up...

An aircraft & museum thread is a great Idea!

To add some captions to Morettis pictures, in order:
    Fokker DR111 replica
    Wright or Bristol replica
    Bristol fighter, with Hispano engine
    RR Merlin or Griffon
CAC Winjeel, Aussie designed & built trainer & FAC from the '50s
    Merlin or Griffon
CAC Boomerang, a '40s stopgap built in Melbourne - didn't give many Zeros a fright but very effective as a ground attack aircraft in NG - tough, heavily armed and a good gun platform. Very popular with pilots and very few lost in combat, always a good sign.
GAF Nomad - "a technically competent answer to a question nobody asked" classic example of why the military should not be involved in design/specification of aircraft, in Oz at least.
Cessna 180 FAC, usually operated by the Army, many in private hands.
    Wright/Bristol again.

My favourite museum in Oz is Temora - all the aircraft are flyable. and they have some great plans for new acquisitions - how about a flyable/joyride F4? My company does a bit of work for them, free or at cost - nice guys and David Lowy is a F car fan, having had several.

Anybody want to buy a vintage Cessna 172?

Great pics Morett.Saw the Boomerang at Woodstock about 17 years ago(flying)the Mustang turned up as well.
Went to Oakey about 6 years ago....they,ve increased size/exibits since then?
I reckon Temora would have to be one of the best...all flying/demonstrating.
