    Hello,

I'm after some Warhol originals, can anyone point me in the direction of a good Art dealer they van vouch for?

I don't have alot of experience in buying art, what's the least I should be paying for a Warhol original? - some dealers have given me suspiciously low prices!

    Regards

    Will

Can't help you with the dealer, or any experience with buying a print, but good on you for trying!

Warhola is one of my favorites. Let us know how you make out, and what you end up buying! :)

EDIT: As a bit of an afterthought, did you look into major auction houses? Christies? Or go down to a local art showroom and see what they think. Whatever you do, don't go on ebay!!!

Sothebys and Christies have auctioned off some pieces I may have bid on in the past, but everything by Warhol they're selling in the near future is work I wouldn't be interested in.

It also seems the competitive nature of auction has pushed prices quite high, I was looking to spend £30,000 max, but i'm not sure whether i'll have to spend more.

One of the original Campbells paintings would be nice though, and not nessecarily too expensive!

Artists often trade their paintings amongst themselves, without Dealer intervention, so, if you know any - you might be surprised at what they "warehouse" or have in their homes.

PM me I can help you. I met him several times as was related to Eddie Segwick. I know the market for his works well and have owned several of his works in the past.

I got a catalogue from Opera Gallery, they have a branch in Soho and were good with a few paintings I bought a few years back. One of the pieces for sale was Chanel #5 by Andy. I called them to ask what they were asking as I have one hanging in my kitchen covering the fuse box. They told me $150,000, I felt as if I hit the lottery. I haven't looked in a few years, but that price seems crazy high. I also have Spirit of Freedom, lifesavers, Franz Kafka and a Lauren Becall. Does anyone know what they might be worth?
    Thanks!

The Chanel piece was recently reprinted for distribution in the retail stores, I have two copies of it myself.

Is that what's in your kitchen over the panel??

How much did you pay for each of those pieces?

Where did you get them from?, are you sure they're originals which are approved by the Andy Warhol Foundation?

(if you dont mind me asking!)

I own a 'Purple Cow" of Warhol's that I love. I was able to buy it directly from the owner after finding him on an "art" forum. The prices you quoted for originals seem low to me. Has the market dropped that much?

I have owned the Channel for over 25 years. It's an original silkscreen signed by Andy AP 1/X
