Rarely have them on FCA days. Even so, if someone doesn't know to look in their mirrors to wave people past, do you really think they'd notice a blue flag, or even know what it means?

I've never even seen them on FNR trackdays where I expected them but you would expect most track nuts to know what they mean and they are told during the drivers brief if they are going to use them

Ted was then still on his P plates, and as such should be treated as a learner on the track. The fact he has a fast car is his luxury and the smarter guy can ALWAYS find himself space on the track when there's only 2 or 3 cars out there. I can't even remember who was trying to pass Ted, but he would have been infinitely better off dropping back for a few corners and having clean laps to the end of the session, as it was he simply messed up every one of his laps.

This also highlights why sessions should be free for all. Because these two cars at this time were a similar speed, they had difficulty passing each other.

Graeme, forget whether the cars are race cars, road cars or show cars. They are FERRARI's and have every right to go to a Ferrari club day. Just because you own a race car doesn't mean you want/can afford to race it...does it Scott/Tom/Pless/Fregon/Gil etc??

race cars are the safest cars on the track, it should perhaps be questioned why you would take a road car on the track, rather than a road trip.

So owners of "race cars" can't be there simply to enjoy their cars GV?
I love Ferraris and I love driving on tracks (road driving is BORING), so how come I can't enjoy my car at a club day? I have not got the SLIGHTEST interest in going racing- should I be forced to park my car because the streetcar brigade have their noses out of joint? If so, I won't be there at all as it is far safer and enjoyable in a race car. Leaving turn 1 at the island backwards in my 360 Modena at 180kmh was NOT my idea of fun.
Ego's? I have a Ducati Corsa as you know. Now when I was in to bikes, I used to run around quite happily mid-field as I can't ride for peanuts. The Corsa is just as "over the top" as the Michelotto; but I was happy as a "pig in ****" despite the fact I would never win anything. Same applies for the Michelotto. Drop the trophies etc and I will still be there !!!

Phil, I'm not blaming Ted for anything. Clearly, he wasn't informed properly, because as soon as he was, he did what he was meant to. I was actually having a go at you for your stupid attitude on a club day. How ridiculous was it to say the guy following has to find a way past, when the rules say he's not allowed to, and that if he does, he might be sent home? Yep...VERY.

Drop back? Why would you? As the car following you'd be expecting that the car in front would see you in his mirrors and wave you past...if not on corner one...maybe corner 2...or 3?

There's a hole in your argument there, Scott...if race cars weren't allowed, you wouldn't have bought it in the first place, so you wouldn't have it to just "park"

Forchristsakes I thought the purpose of track days was fun. Who cares what you bring as long as you don't take anyone else out?!
Race car, road car, budgets big or small, lets just have MORE participation. Lets see more Ferrari race cars on the track and less in museums, same for road cars, less lattes, more driving, please!!

    here we go...

It was clear to me that Ted hadn't seen the car behind. Whose fault that is, is for you to work out. But if I had been following Ted in the same circumstances, I would have dropped back ......at a track like winton with the minor car disparity that was evident.

And, FWIW, my opinion was simply voiced more loudly (as usual), than Allan, who was standing right next to me (joined at the hip you know). Now I don't know 5hit about any crap, but he does, so if am stupid, so is he in your opinion, and that my friend makes YOU the stupid one... in my opinion!

oh yeah... and wave you past, from a 360C... do you really think the following driver would see three gloved fingertips from the Left hand window slot...!! yeah, right

If allan was of the opinion that on an FCA club day that that theory was applicable, then yes, he was stupid too. Now that you mention it, I remember him saying "ted's paid his money, he can do what he wants"

Yep..sorry...you were both out of line with your comments UNDER THOSE CIRCUMSTANCES

You don't enjoy driving as fast as you can without knowing the lap time? I just love going fast...although I keep it to the track, unless Carl's around!

Your memory is sketchy too. And have I been downgraded from Stupid to just out of line, or do I get both now?

What feels fast can be deceptive. My fastest laps have often felt anything but. While just having the opportunity to drive fast is great, I equally enjoy competing with myself. Maybe I should just buy a race car and go racing instead. Not sure I can afford Ferrari racing though.

What makes you think that I wouldn't have bought it? It is a hypothetical question; but I am a Ferrari enthusiast first and an FCA member 2nd. There are numerous other venues to use the car without going racing.

My memory is perfect, actually. It was a disgusting display you both put on that day. I forgave Allan though, as I don't see how he could possibly have been aware of the rules of FCA days and is a pure racer through and through.

    Oh, and you're both.

Scott, there's no reason to be apologetic for your disease, particularly to Peter. One day it will be formally recognised and may even be covered by medical insurance. :D

You're so predictable, and forgetful, or should that be imaginative. Far too much time on your hands I reckon.......

He said I said we said they did, did not did too, lying 8astard, go fk yrslf.

I think that covers it, NEXT.

Allan knows most if not all the rules, that's one of his attributes, and he's been chief instructor at the Jonathan Palmer school for innumerable events. He knows how days SHOULD be run.

He wasn't apologising. Why don't i think he wouldn't have bought it if he weren't allowed? I can't be bothered typing so much right now....obviously I can't be 100% sure...but I'm pretty damn sure.

    Wow...good comeback Phool.

I don't give a damn what he knows, what you know, or what anyone knows, really. The rules on the day, which we'd all agreed to by signing the entry form, specified that you cannont overtake under brakes or through corners EVER and then down the straights you can once the car in front waves you past.

Now for you and Allan to say that Ted had the right to block the road as much as he wanted to because he'd paid to be there and could do what he wanted, and that it was up to the person behind to "find a way past" and now defending having said that just shows you to be the arrogant, irrational and self centred **** that you are.

As for Allan, I have nothing but respect for him as a driver and, from what I know, as a person. Maybe he could run a day better than us amateurs (the committee), but guess what...he wasn't the person running the day and nor were you. Phil, baby...newsflash...the world does not revolve around you and your race car customers. Get over yourself.
