I will be moving four cars from Pennsylvania to South Carolina in a few months.

    Total distance 625 miles,

Any ideas on who to hire?
    Who to avoid?

    Open transport is acceptable.
I want all cars on the same truck and I insist on being present for both loading and unloading.

    Suggestions?????????????????

    Bob Z.

Intercity Lines. They are closed only but I have found them to be fantastic.

They'll definitely be able to fit all 4 cars in one truck.

I have been in the high line car business for years and have shipped many cars. I've used both Passport/Fed-Ex and Intercity, and have nothing but praise for both of them. With that being said, you did not mention what cars you are shipping, but if they are Ferraris or anything else collectable definitely ship enclosed. Too much bad stuff can happen on an open trailer ( smashed spoilers, fried clutches, fluid drips from other cars etc.)

    Just my two cents,

    Prescott

I used him to transport from CA to MO and he did a great job and was very understanding and patient.

Last week, I just had Exotic move an FXX, 2002 Ferrari F1, Aston Martin DBR9, Bugatti Veyron, Murcialago, Saleen, 599 and an F430. Load and unload, then load and unload again. Moved my Boxer from Costa Mesa to Boca Raton last year. they actually build the lift mechanisms for the trailer interiors themselves and sell to many of the other companies mentioned here.

Nary a scratch or problem. Excellent job.

+2, Great outfit, shipped my car from Fla to CT. I talked with the driver a few times on his cell to arrange when he'd arrive, etc.

"Open transport"? As in open trailer?

What cars are you shipping and is there a good body shop near by?

I'm having a car transported by Passport (Fedex) as we speak.

Unfortunatly, the jury is still out. When everything is done I will post my opinion.

    What happened with DAS?

I've used DAS and I was able to track the truck online. I knew when to expect the car. It was quick and arrived with no problems. I'm not sure I would use them with an exotic, but for a "driver" they did a reasonable job. This was an enclosed trailer....

Have used Intercity twice- great both times. The only thing is, you're somewhat at their mercy w/ respect to timing of delivery @ destination. Give them as much advance notice as feasible, and you may still have to be somewhat flexible (the competitors are probably the same, but have no experience except w/ Intercity).
