Bean soups, Boston baked beans, refried beans. I love 'em. They are good for you too.

I make the best Red Beans and Rice from scratch that you've ever had! Where I'm from, it's against the law to fix them out of a box. ;)

Oh yeah! Never liked beans much growing up but now they're a staple at just about any gathering.
My wife is the bean expert, taught by her daddy in Texas.
This weekend for a big party she soaked a bag of red beans overnight then threw them in the slow cooker all day with onion and bell pepper, bottle of beer, smoked hock and various spices. No leftovers...
Her specialty is purple hulled peas but we can't find them in Milwaukee :(
I'm long overdue to make black beans and rice. Used to date a cuban girl whose grandmother made these almost every day it seems. Soooooooo good.

Not to be a snob but I rarely will touch some sort of food out of a box.

I've become pretty good friends with a Louisiana transplant that makes the best ******* beans I've ever had. The prick won't give up his recipe though.

Chili con carne is a great way for me to eat red beans. With meat cut into small pieces, very strong chili, cumin, onion and accompanied by white rice. It's delicious!

I like all beans and this reminds me of a meal I was preparing about 10yrs ago for a Sunday of racing. I purchased a can of baked beans and performed my usual tweeking which consist of brown sugar, S&P, diced onions, finely cubed smoked bacon and a lean and lightly spicy sausage (slices cut into 1/4's). I cover (preferably with a lid that has a venting spout) and simmer on LOW for atleast 2hr's while waiting on my oven-baked ribs.

This particular time the beans where so delicious I did not eat any ribs for a few hours afterwards (nappy time included).

    As stated, quick/easy fix...

Most often, we do them Brazilian style (a la Fejoada) here.

Dangerously good for the local atmosphere! :D:D:D

Dutch oven is loaded up. Felt a bit fancy today so I went with guanciale and tasso in my beans.

I love beans! Black beans, red beans, lima beans, refried beans, etc., pretty much any kind.
