how robust are boxer flat 12's- in terms of length between rebuilds, blown head gasket problems, etc. are they as durable as a daytona v12?

bullet proof engine in general. At times people have had a sodium filled exhaust vavle fail but not often. The engines simply dont break. The gearbox can be a different story, that being said Ive had no problems with mine. The early 365BB had more gearbox issues than the much faster :) 512's (Hi David) so the later the boxer you buy the less likely you will have an issue at all. If you go for the boxer engined TR then you have even more refinement.
