Brakes

I have a 2009 430 scuderia and my question is how long will the carbon ceramic rotors last before they have to be replaced even if I track the car once in a while.

 

Suggest you search for posts by F430GT. He's posted a lot of information on the brakes for the Scud and how to adapt for track use.

On the stock tires (Pirelli Corsa system) or high performance street tires (RE11, ADV08, RS3, MPSS), and the stock brake pads, with an experienced driver: 45 track hours or less.

On racetrack tires (Hoosier A6/R6, Trofeo R, ): 30 track hours or less.

On the F430 Challenge (slicks, faster speeds into braking zones and harder front brake pads): 15 hours or less

This time is based on brand new rotors 100% new.

Hot days increase wear. Lack of cool down laps increases wear. Running the pads more than 50% of the new thickness increases wear. Running a cooling brake kit reduces wear. Running better brake pads reduces wear. Rookie drivers can increase or decrease wear depending on driving style. Running CST-OFF decreases wear. Running in Sport/Race or CT-OFF increases wear.

On street use, non-spirited driving, no high speed braking, the CCB rotors should exceed 100,000 miles, easily.
