Something has happened in my search for an F-car. As someone posted in another thread, I have become at peace in patience and am enjoying the hunt. But, a curious thing has happened. As I have made contacts, a couple independents are threatening to thwart my quest by assuring me they will "find my car" (and one accepting an extraordinary challenge). I know I need to improve my profile here . But, I'm not looking for the more modern stuff, I'm looking for a 3x8. I have to wonder. Will one of these guys find a no stories, books, records, tools and top notch car that is not at a ridiculous price? Maybe this topic is more a question of buying private party versus expert/dealer. In no case would I buy without a PPI, though I am wondering what to do if they did come up with a car and they have a great reputation, say here in ferrarichat, versus trying to arrange a PPI at a local Ferrari dealership with zero reputation in the older cars. Thanks! Seamus
Thanks! Again, my fault for not providing more information or updating my profile. I am looking for a red carb car, preferably <40K miles. And, yes, I know the caution about miles. Seamus
I greatly prefer to deal with owners which can be dealers, but, by definition, not brokers. Too many horror stories not to mention another layer of cost. Dave
