Instead of going for the dealer's demo model - was thinking of ordering a new one - one of the options on the demo was tyre pressure monitor - is this really an option worth having?

If you have run flat tires which are standard on the forged wheels or plan to run those tires, then yes it is a good option. It is also interesting to see the tire temperatures.

it's a cool option because it gives an actual readout of psi that you can see change as you drive the car. my mercedes just works through an idiot light.

interestingly it's standard on UK cars, I find it is useful to check pressures regularly

Thanks guys appreciate the input - it is a standard spec on the basic Australian delivered cars - but was looking at getting a new one and doing the spec myself. The thing that shocks me though is price differences - in Australia the price for a good spec model on the road is about A$540k !! Annoys me when I look at US prices.

I would hope they have significantly upgraded the TPMS in the new FCars. I have had it in both a 575 and now my SA. I had problems with both. Accordingly I had the system turned off. I use the old method.....check the tires manually.

I never look at the pressure monitor. The one option i'd strongly suggest is the magnaride. I love it. Big difference in test driving the two cars. Glad i got it.

Magnaride has improved with the latest software release. Comfort mode is significantly more comfortable on rough roads!

Get the backup camera. And if you plan to take it cross country at all get the cruise control, it will save you all kinds of tickets. This car goes very fast, very easily.

Get stitching and piping and stitched horses in the head rests!
