are the GTSi/GTBi cam sprockets fibreglass/plastic like the carb cars or metal? are they interchangable? I ask because one of my sprockets has a piece missing from its ear and I would like to replace it. I have seen new CNC made sprockets but they want a small fortune for a set. Any other options? Paul,

They are made from Cheap plastic,, and cost like gold,, I just sold a set for $ 400.00

There are aftermarket Factory Aluminum models out.
Steel 328 cogs can be machined to fit,,, I have a set for sale.
    PM me.

$400 bucks for a used set? wow. The CNC aluminum ones are looking better.

A local shop told me if I had the originals I should stop driving the car and replace them with aluminum. (Like, isn't it enough to worry about belts breaking? :):) )

I searched here and on the old Ferrarichat but could not find posts about sprockets breaking.

And now folks are paying $400 for the plastic ones?

the ears like to break off...coggs themselves don't seem to be a problem. I have my car for 15 years and a number of belt changes...the plastic were never an issue...but I think I will replace these with the aluminum.
