I am thinking of buying a car in Canada and importing to the US. 2015 Porsche. How difficult is this? Do I need to hire a company to handle the transaction? Any recommendation. Thanks! Chris

Is it an American vehicle in Canada? That would make it much easier.

The key thing is having all the correct paperwork. Preferably the Porsche comes with a US DOT sticker on it. My GTI has one and it is a Canadian market car.

There are some posts in F-chat that talk about what is needed. Do your research and you can very easily do all the paperwork and US customs clearance yourself. You will need more paperwork for a 2015 vehicle than one that is 25 years old, so when researching make sure you are aware of this.

TFX is a great transport company and since the car is leaving Canada there should be no sales tax associated with the purchase.
