I am aware that since this is Fchat, so I know what the majority will probably say. I am debating specking out a 458 spider tomorrow for delivery about 4 months out or, getting a 2013 Lamborghini LP550-2 tomorrow and being priority for ordering the Gallardo replacement when released.

The LP550-2 is cheaper and I think the G replacement will trump the 458 until it is replaced. On the other hand, the 458 spider is amazing and there will probably b no downside on the back end as it would still b a relatively early delivery.

Any input or feedback appreciated. Thanks.

Respectfully, how can anyone be of assistance when your questions center around time and money (tomorrow-4months, LP550-2 is cheaper)? There is a world of difference between the two cars and I would hope that anyone spending the money buying one knows what they are buying. Who cares what I think? Best

Thanks to all replies. I agree 100% that 458 > 550-2 in all ways. I wonder how much > will G replacement b than the 458?

I guess im relating it kind of like Aventador > 599 (yes my opinion of course).

458 spider just about trumps any ferrari or lambo i have had....you can drive it as a daily driver and it is as docile as a Lexus or Benz, or you can drive the hell out of it and it is about as much fun as you can have with your clothes on it....and at the end of the day it's a Ferrari and the others are not....imho

There seems little that I can add to the huge volume of material available on these cars. Asking this question on a Ferrari forum will get you the expected answer. Asking this question on the Lamborghini forum will get you the expected answer.

    458. Smaller, easier to drive, more fun in the sun, not clutch to replace, less "hey look at me".

If you are asking this question on a 458 forum... It seems like you have already decided...;)))
My vote is for the 458 spider in Triple layer red or white!!!

G replacement is an unknown. why consider/compare to an unknown? it is like comparing a known beauty to a blind date.

As an aside, if I were going to order a new 458 and splurge on paint, I would get it in the new Rosso Berlinetta. I saw it on the F12, but you can get it on any car (for much $$). It is simply gorgeous. Best description I can think of is the orangey hue of the Rosso Scuderia but with much metal and the three layer depth.

well, just closed out the FF and that wasn't nice. I was looking to spec out a spider while there. In response to some comments, if i were to pay up for paint, triple layer white or yellow would be my choice. If not, I was leaning towards Giallo, Rosso Scuderia, or Bianco Avus.

HOWEVER, decision has been made. Drop the lambo idea, will NOT spec out a 458 spider, thought about briefly but am not going to get a pre-owned 2013 458 spider. Instead, I will give my spec and good chance have my F12 in my garage by summer's end.
