Hello friends. Silly thread here but I need to write. My 308GTB has been in storage for about 8 months now, thanks to my work-related relocation. The transporter arrives this Saturday afternoon with my beloved '79 308GTB on board. I've owned this car (twice) for nine years and have just hated being without it these past months. (Only a fellow owner can understand this silly feeling.) I can't wait till it gets here!!!

I totally understand. It kills me when my cars are away from home.
We want a picture of her at her new home.

What side of town are you on? I'm in Sugar Land. We should meet up and go for a cruise.

Absolutely! I'm in Gleannloch Farms (2 miles east of 249 on Spring-Cypress)

Lots of owners here and everyone seems to be really friendly. I just moved from Tulsa where there a quite a few Ferraris - but they are all locked away in garages and never driven! This hobby needs to be SHARED!

Soon Rick, soon. I understand totally, and I am so thrilled seeing you here after your long absence from the List. Glad you got your baby back, and running, and it looks stunning.

I still dont have 200 Ferrari miles under my belt yet since my first ride almost 9 years ago. Two cars now and still no big banana. But its "close" now. This parts car/driver has really been trying my patience. Shoulda pulled the motor out and just did it all up right from the start instead of this micky mouse going around in circles trying to do things twice to save myself the work for later.

Wow, the car looks sensational in silver, and with those 328 wheels.

I feel the same way when I'm out of town driving around in some Malibu -- I can't wait to get home, pop the garage door and see her waiting there.

You lucky man, I know just how you feel you have a fantastic car.
We must all be the same,
I am not looking forward to the winter when she has to sit in the garage, coverd up waiting for a fine day.

I am depressed at the rain in the UK at the moment :0(

    Congrats!
    Mark...

trust me i know the feeling, I haden't driven my 328 in over 4 months due to an injury on active duty. I just got it back last week, all smiles. I was storing it at a local Fchatters house while I was gone and also until I could drive. It would have made me sick to look at a car I couldn't drive :)

I remember reading about your restoration on the list. "painters should be shot"...

    Drive it in good health!

Anything but a glamour shot but it's HOME! The SL500 on the left is my daily driver. The 308 is cooling on the right...

Thank's Steve! Its good to have the car home. Allen's doing great. His summer at Langmuer went really well and he is continuing to work casually through the upcoming semesters. FerrariList is back up then, right? :)

LOL. I still have no evidence that I should change that quote. :) ...and thanks for the well-wish!

The 308 came out nice. It never ceases to amaze me what can be done by spending a whole lot of money. :p

That begs a question: How much does good paint cost? I paid over $10,000 for that paint and the oodles of repair and prep work beneith. Perhaps I should define "repairs".

We replaced rust-damaged panels, removed federalizing-add-on sidemarkers and put steel back in place, finished the INSIDE of the body panels, finished the underbody.

Not included in the paint and body cost was refinishing all the leather, fixing age-related weak points in the interior (e.g. places where the 27-year-old cement had let go), retrofitting radio, powder coating all external metal trim and louvers (that were originally black), all new rubber moldings and weatherstrips, fitting the 328 wheels and new correct size tires for the 328 wheels.
