My 78 Boxer, 24731, has a lipstck red interior. An ad from a previous seller said it is a "Cartier" version, available only through Pozzi. Never heard of that, and there is no documentation of it. can anyone confirm or deny the "Cartier" story? Thanks, mark

    Mark,

I have heard of this before, and even now it's still a bit dubious, The most plausible explanation was told to me by a guy who worked in the Pozzi Marketing Dep't in the early '80's.

He said that to try and boost sales they offered top end watches or jewellery with certian models, they upped the prices accordingly, but Joe public thought they were getting a good deal by buying a Ferrari and getting a 'Free' watch of pair of earrings for the Wife, Hence the name "Cartier Special".

I have to say, I'm still not convinced.

I have written to the Factory, Pozzi, and I am trying to get an appropriate contact at Cartier. the weird thing is I believe the data on the car shows "bordeaux" interior, and this car is red inside, defintely the original interior.

There is a Cartier BB watch too, probably went with the cars? Now if I could only find one of those watches, google doesnt even turn anything up.
