    How reliable are Challenge cars? From 355 and up which is the car to buy and why? What is the major maintenance items? Can they easily be ran at the track with basic tools and knowledge or do they require a lot of tech work?

    355ch is probably the easiest and most robust car. Less dependant on electronics, and more a "mechanical" car...but its of course a Ferrari still :)

    It has comparatively simple electornics though, simple braking system (great pedal feel), standard lugs, and is an easy car to drive hard.

    355/360 has the standard maintenance intervals, and the 430 has less (doesn't need entire rear end of the car dissembled for maintenance interval i believe)...but of course the 430 costs quite a bit more than a 355/360ch still.

    We had a 355ch and 360ch at the same time, had both at the same event...while 360ch was a bit quicker, i enjoyed driving the 355ch more. I felt more connected to the car, and felt it could be pushed to its limits with less resistance. The 360ch felt like it did not want to be there, and because it relies on more aerodynamics for grip, it can get hairy in some situations where the 355ch would still feel under control...it has a larger slip angle in its "comfort range"...similar to BMW's in my opinion (slip angle that is).

    We ditched the 360ch after just 1 season and kept the 355ch...and now its for sale if you're interested. Brand new custom Ohlins dampers, recent weight loss, and fresh tires and its currently prepped and ready to hit the track, let me know if you're interested.

    It's quite feasible to run a 348CH or 355CH without track support, but you'll need track-side help for a 360CH or 430CH.

    I was at a NASA event this past weekend and spoke with a guy who has been running a 430CH the entire season without trackside support.

    If you are capable enough you can do anything yourself. There is a father/son that run a 333sp themselves in the Northeast...

    If you just do some track days you don't need that much.
    Just be carefull changing wheels (600 Nm!) or adding fuel (fire!!), for the rest it is fine to do some trackdays or short races yourself.

    we use a 360ch for tarmac rallies in Australia, its been a learning curve and now have 99% of the bugs and issues dealt with, generally I would say it comes down to how well one maintains the car and how its treated will depend on ultimately how reliable it is.
