Replaced the clutch on my '82 308 about 5 months ago, but while I was in there, I decided to replace timing belts, valve cover gaskets, hoses, etc.... anyway I just finished all the servicing today. Engine started up perfectly thank God, but when I released the cluth pedal to back out of the garage, the engine bogged and stalled. The gear box goes into nuetral and I can roll the car, but even in nuetral you have to have the clutch pedal down to start the engine. With the clutch engaged the starter just jams trying to turn the engine over. The clutch installed with no problems, didn't expect this! Anyone have this happen, before I take the clutch back out to see what I did wrong? -jim

Just in case this ever happens to anyone... I installed the lower gear in the transfer case backwards, so it was flush against the housing and wouldn't turn. Back on the road now!
