    I know almost nothing about the F1, but I do know that potentiometers on the underside of the transmission sense movement in four directions, and they are known to fail. You're probably going to have to use a meter to check to see if one of them have failed.

    Check your battery and use the reset procedure. Often some small electrical issue fools the various sensors.
