Does anyone have some pictures of how the A/C compressor is mounted? Just got my new one and need to put it in its place. Since it was a major break down the guys who did the last cam belt change took it out for me. Therefore I do not know how it was mounted. Thanks in advance. B
Hello, Ben; Hopefully these diagrams will help. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I think I have 1 split A/C hose. A/C is hot. Heard what sounded like a split hose and gas spewing out a few weeks ago. Havent looked at it yet. The 2 hoses on the compressor end look like a pain to get off to me....... Anyone ever taken them 2 hoses off? I had a look under the car when I checked out an oil leak a few weeks ago. Doesnt loook easy.
Thanks a lot. It sure will help. Bought the work shop manual but just the second picture in that one. Dismounted the alternator belt yesterday, becuase the belt to the compressor is supposed to be mounted before the other one. Guess I have to connect the two hoses before I put the compressor back in its place. Think PAP got to do the same operation. Take out the compressor from underneath and the dismount the hoses. Thanks again! B
over gassed by your bushie mechanic not so long ago? You gotta put only just enough in... if you over do it, it'll work great for a while... until something pops.... Use the sight glass on the dryer... fill it till the sight glass JUST stops bubbling... and then a tiny top up if you must, but not much.
Righteo.............. This guy has been repairing/charging A/C systems for 20 years. Plus I know a thing or 2 about A/C systems. We even put in the correct 900grams of gas in ****. The 2 A/C hose are around 4 inches away from the RH exhaust manifold. Even with the crap orange sheath over the hoses to protect part of them, im sure the heat has half cooked them to begin with.
