There is a virus that goes around, where your computer ims everyone on your buddy list with a link. If they click the link, they get the virus and it goes on. Well I accidently pressed on it from a friend. So i'm trying to restore my computer to yesterday, and each time it says I need 200 megs of free space. So I check my C drive and it says i have 40.8 gigs of free space, much more than needed. I'm no computer expert, so will someone please help.

Haha, I like this computer though. I have had no problems :knock on wood: with it.

I also keep receiving this message when I start it up. Unknown Publisher, cannot be verified. Lockx.exe from c:\windows\system32 .

Did you read the thread I posted for you?

I don't know why restore won't work for you. It might be that the virus has corupted the ability. I just don't know.

It seems clear to me that your computer has a virus if you have this process that is trying to start. They can be a nightmare to remove. If you don't know your way around computers it might be worth calling Bestbuy. They are now affiliated with the Nerds (something like that). They can put you back together. Otherwise your going to need to find all the processes and probably delete items in your registry. If you do it wrong it will be a worse nightmare.

I suggest you backup your important files now.

If you have a cd burner use your burner program. Just drag the important files from "my documents" folder and possibly others and burn a disk.

Eric, will that work on a flash drive as well? Isn't there a way to copy everything in case things like this happen so you can restore it via the flash drive?

Ah, an AIM virus. This shouldn't be too bad to take care of. Do this, go to Start then click Run. Type in msconfig and then hit OK. Click on Startup. What is listed under Startup Item? There could be a list of 20 items or so, so sorry in advance for having you type it all out, but it will help in determining the problem.

Alright, forget the pen drive for now. Keep it aside and hope it isn't corrupted.

I'm going to pass the torch and see if these guys can help you. I'll check back and see if you need anymore assistance.

    Good luck....

Unfortunately, the internet is really crappy here so it was too slow. I did download spybot, for some reason I am getting a pop up at the beginning I got a few months ago but was able to get rid of, again. Damn, I hate computers.

The new pop up is C:\windows\downloaded program files\bridge.dll
