    Hi Members,

I currently drive a 2008, F430 Spider. Just wondering if anyone uses a protectant or repellent on their top? I have been doing some research and have found this product: Raggtopp (http://www.raggtopp.com) but I have never tried it. My top is in great shape and I want to keep it that way. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance...

I have used Renovo top cleaner, dye, and waterproof-er products and was very happy with the results. Top is darker and looks much better.

303 aerospace fabric guard is a good choice, really easy to apply, waterproofs the fabric roof. Good to vacuum dust off of the roof before applying.

I use the cleaning fluid spray and scrub lightly with a boar's hair wheel brush. Then the waterproof/protect-ant rattle-can after the car is washed. Lots of sellers for the two can/bottle kit. I use Amazon.

I also use 303 fabric guard. The only thing I noticed since applying it to my top is that the fold creases are a little more pronounced when the top is up. I guess that makes sense since the protectant makes it a little stiffer.

Today I attacked my convertible top in my bmw. The manufacturer of the top I believe is the same of a Ferrari and Bentley etc

I have always used 303 but it has been two years since my last treatment and the top has been outside ..rain/snow/grass clippings etc

I wash it thoughtly with 303 top cleaner and a boars hair brush ...sprayed cleaning ..let sit for 10 mins , brushed it a few times and rinsed. Once it dried I took a lint brushes(scotch tape type) and rolled the whole top. Then poured 303 fabric guard in a cup and using a 2 in brush, brushed the whole roof paying more attention to seams and hidden fabric. Any over brush in windows etc I wiped up quickly since once it dries it very difficult to remove . Did the whole roof in sun and let it dry .. been about 5 hours and it looks amazing .. I would say new but I do have some creases that are a little worn / have shade color differences

I would highly recommend this process once a year for outdoor vehicles and maybe every two years if the only weather it sees is a hose and soap :)
