Im just trying to understand my 88.5 QV. (i have no hand book)
My car has two fans one for each radiator, one comes on the other doesn't, is this correct? I have read some have a twin stage temperature sender ie one fan cuts in and the other cuts in if necessary.
    Also where are the fuses?

Fuses and relays for the fans are in a box behind the LH panel in the trunk.

Not sure about the 2 fan cars, but I know my '86 uses (4) fans. A "puller" fan on each radiator that come on when the water temps rises, and "pusher" fan on each radiator that kick on when the water temp really gets warm. Not sure of the exact temps when they come on and off.

Are both fans on same fuse, i was reading your thread regarding the fans, hence i knew about the two stage set up.

Yes the car will hopefully be out this weekend sitting in London traffic depending on my mood.

Both pushers are on 1 circuit and both pullers are on another circuit. The plastic box (used on the earlier QV's prior to 88.5) gets so hot that it warps out of shape!

Each set of fans runs through a 25-amp fuse to a BOSCH relay. In fact, my relay had got so hot at one time it actually melted!!

Like Raymond, I am going to redo my box back there, use better wire and connectors that have more surface area than these silly little things Lamborghini uses. No kidding, they have a 10 gauge wire running into a fuse block which is held in place with a set-screw on the connector that is no bigger than a pencil lead! No wonder so much heat builds up!

    Hi anthony
As i aid in our convesation, both fans need to be on the same time as both do the same job and the radiators are just different sides of the same process. Get an electrician to check them out. The wiring on the countachs can be in various places. I got rid of the one 25amp relay and put two realys and fuses into mine due to consistent problems with fuses blowing
Give me a call again if your stuck. These cars run very hot as the air cooling is poor and the engines big with lots of fluid in them!

or sucks :) depends on the point of view...

Trunk, left side in that ugly melted grey plastic box, in the pre 1988, yours should already have the metal box

My Diablo was away for 5 months there, came back with a 'sticky relay' which meant the right rear fan didnt work. I noticed quite quickly as I use to get a huge blast of hot air standing behind the car whereas now it was just one side.

Don't know about 88.5 my 25th works right hand fan cuts in at 90 /92 degs and when sat in traffic on hot days only left fan will cut in around 95/ 96 degs. I did have an issue with said wires melting, the block connector easy corrected.
