the title sounds really dumb, but I checked carfolio and other sources and there are two different wheelbases stated: 2450mm (96,5in) and 2500mm (98,4in). Seems that the earlier cars had the shorter wheelbase, but exactly when was the wheelbase changed and are there other details to help tell them apart?

according to my data, the LP500 had a wheelbase of 2464mm and all the production cars were 2450mm from LP400 to Anniversary.

Where did the 2500mm come from ? a round up ?

Original blueprints from Bertone of LP500 have 2450mm wheelbase. The factory brochure for the LP400 give 2450mm as the wheelbase. Later cars have larger wheelbase. The question is where and why did the wheelbase get longer ? If some of you could measure your cars we would find out .

Countach original factory brochures show 2500 mm for the first time at the LP5000 Quattrovalvole model... and 2450 on LP400 - LP400S - LP500S

if you really want to know what the real CT wheelbase is, measure it... Lamborghini data sheets weren't updated often and lacked of accuracy.

    ciao

Not only the wheelbase is bigger but the overall length of the Quattrovalvole is also bigger than earlier models, is this difference taken from front and rear overhang bumpers or was the cabin space enlarged. Those added 5 centimeters to the wheelbase were achieved by moving the front axle or the rear axle?
