There is a cabin in the woods. Inside the cabin there are 100 people. All 100 people are sitting down, but they are all dead. What happened?

They thought that if they were going to be there for a while (which you would when you're dead!), they might as well make themselves comfy and get a chair.

I was thinking airplane cabin as well.

Someone asked me today "a cowboy rides into an inn on Friday, stays for two days, and leaves on Friday, how can this be?"........probably not that hard for the genius' on the board though..

too much thinking around here lately.

i thought 100 octane and un-catted exhaust fumes, prohibited most from engaging in any sort of coherent thought out side of: clutch in, gear select, gas, clutch out (or flick paddle for the modern guys)

10 books are on a shelf. A book worm starts on the cover of the first book and then eats to the final page of the the tenth book. Each book has 100 pages. How many pages did the book worm eat?

800 pages if "to" means up to and "cover" means front cover.

Pfff, it's obvious the difficulty needs to be ramped up a bit. I'll find some brain twisters.

    I have one!

Imagine a plane is sat on the beginning of a massive conveyor belt/travelator type arrangement, as wide and as long as a runway, and intends to take off. The conveyer belt is designed to exactly match the speed of the wheels at any given time, moving in the opposite direction of rotation.
    There is no wind.

    Can the plane take off?

    Is Tom Cruise piloting?

Here's a real (hard) one: If each side of a cube is painted red or blue or yellow, how many distinct color patterns are possible?

Put two books on a shelf, then see how many pages you cover between page 1 of the first book and the last page of the second book.

Take 3 books and line them up on end. Look at where the front cover of the first book is and the final page of the last book. You'll figure it out.

Can you get a treadmill on an aircraft carrier catapault? :D

Seems hard. But combinatorics involving symmetries and equivalences due to spatial rotation exceed the definition of "fun" for this board :D.
