Cubs made a pretty important trade, sending Sean Gallagher, Matt Murton and Eric Patterson to the A's for Rich Harden and Chad Gaudin. Huge boost to the rotation.

Yep. This was a huge trade. I just hope Harden can stay healthy. If he does the Cubs should be in great shape. I think this is the best Cubs team since 1984. Hopefully that doesn't jinx them :)

Ditto. This is their year. The reason I can say that so confidently is because I turned over my tickets for the season.

I was 9 years old in 1984 but I thought I was going to be faced with quite a dilema. Should I root for the Tigers or Cubs? I really thought the Cubs were going to beat the Padres and make it to the World Series. Well you know what happened. Leon "The Bull' Durham's error in the playoffs actually made me cry. For the record, I would have rooted for the Cubs if they made it to the world series.

Second half should be damn good! Barring a collapse, two teams should come out of the Central.

I'm extremely pleased with this team. 84 team had 96 wins and I think we'll be close to that this year. Exciting times for Chicago baseball, indeed.

Who's going to see the Blackhawk's at Wrigley? :) I don't have much interest in hockey but do think it would be a spectical.

I think it would be cool to attend. Cold as anything, but different.

Have fun--I'll be working, but if you're walking by stop by the store. We're just up the street from center field.
