Good afternoon I unfortunately ran over some metal debris on the Freeway. It was only 2 lanes and it was right in the middle of my lane and I couldn't switch lanes. There was a car in the other lane and another car right behind me. Anyway wanted to get an idea has anyone else ever had to replace this. Is it a long lead item from Ferrari? Could I just get it from another vendor that has the OEM look? I've seen some online. I'm assuming for resale I need all original parts but this is under the car. I just don't want to wait forever to get it fixed. Any thoughts on anyone who may have experienced this would be appreciated.

In theory you could submit an insurance claim (as it should be covered by comprehensive), but it will show up on Carfax.

If you want to avoid it, you'll have to pay out of pocket, which will mean $$$.

Sorry about this, but at least its mostly superficial.

Looks like you also have some lower body damage , not just the carbon ‘tea tray’ . It is drivable it may be best to claim insurance . Even if it shows up on ‘CarFax’ it will only be minor damage .

Submit it through insurance. Most reputable body shops will submit it to carfax even if you pay them cash. Driving is like a full contact sport anymore on the roads. Hard pressed to not get hit by a stone or something worse. Very frustrating.

Happened to my in my Speciale, hit right on the carbon center splitter. The PPF did its job, but still needs repair.

Agree with the above and also to have the car throughly checked out, under the car, the suspension, etc, and get pictures with dates, keep files. Things do happen, we've all been there. Absolutely worth discussing with your insurance agent and probably a good idea to file a claim. Most important, no one was hurt.

Thanks for all the input. I will drop it off at the dealership in the next 2 weeks and get it repaired. They said they should be able to fix it without breaking the bank lol.

FYI - diminished value. Insurance will pay for the loss of value for a car that has been in an accident.
If it takes a loss of X percent - they will pay that, may need an appraisal for both sides. Under 500.00
This looks minor - double clear bra helps on some areas.

I suggest taking lots of photos of the damage including the undamaged areas nearby. Also, have the repair shop document the repair job meticulously. When selling the car there's a big difference between a minor well documented repair and a repair that leaves a question of more serious damage that wasn't property addressed.
