Daytona seats

I have found a beautiful 458 to buy but not sure if about the Daytona seats. The tan looks good but the red stripes?? I am not sure of the colour combination both for personal and resale reasons.

Your thoughts

 

I think you would be just fine on resale as red inserts are pretty common. If you like them go for it, but if you don't like red inserts, then pass as there are a lot of 458's available.

 

I will be selling the electric/heated Daytona seats from my 458 shortly if interested.

 

Id also add that my experience is this color combo looks a lot better in person than in pictures.

 

I would agree with that 100% When I was looking for my first F Car I passed on one with red inserts because I just saw pictures and didn't care for them at all. When I saw a car that had red inserts in person, I really liked how they looked.

 

What are you replacing them with?

 

Carbon racing seats.

Are you going with Ferrari OE seats? How much did they run?

 

Yes they are Ferrari OE seats, I found them for 15 as-new. Expensive but nice.. Pic below.

Dealing with some airbag passenger seat sensor issues now though! All solvable but will cost more $

I had it. People loved it and so did I. Each to their own. I had no problem in resale.

Personally the stripes make the Daytona patern very striking. Had tan/red Daytona's in my 488 and ordered black/red Daytona's for my 812. It's a personal choice, you either like it or not.

 

FWIW, I only buy cars with Daytona seats.

 

I have black Daytona seats with white contrast stitching. Love them

I definitely prefer the comfort of the CF seats, and without Daytona inserts. The electric comfort seats have an ungodly high seating position, and really lack side bolstering
CF seats in size M for me.
I think Daytona i serts make the seat "lumpy" as you can feel the stripes. No thanks

Regarding seat choices the 2009 Scuderia had very simple all leather seats. Rather plain, almost clinical looking but no distractions either.
