    I exchanged emails with her a few years ago: very stand up and quality person, not to mention. She didn't really tout her qualities very much, rather mater-of-factual in her manner. Honors were noted by others, which is the way it should be. RIP

    I was at the FCA national meet in Dallas a few years ago(don't remember the year) but I had just sat down to dinner at an empty table. A charming older couple walked up and the gentleman asked "would you mind terribly if we joined you?" They introduced themselves as Phil Hill and Denise McCluggage. That was the most memorable and entertaining dinner I've ever had.
