    I loved D2.

But I can't touch D3... it's like crack. I'll get nothing else done... ever, and I'm hoping to be earning a PhD by that point.

    :(

    [bump]

Diablo III is starting to sound like the Duke Nukem story all over again... absolutely
NOTHING from Blizzard - seems all the original programmers are gone - without having
finished a thing other than bits and pieces. Just checked their site and there's really
no mention of a 2011 release anymore that I can find.

Anyone heard anything concrete? Or is DIII a victim of the success of WOW and other
    Blizzard products? Me thinks so....

Too bad.... I've been waiting for DIII for YEARS!!

    :(

I don't think Diablo 3 will become the next Duke Nukem forever. I think Blizzard is more concerned with getting the next two parts of Starcaft 2 ready to go before they put more money into Diablo.

Now the game that could become the next Duke Nukem forever would be Half Life 2: Episode 3. Seems like Valve is taking their sweet time with that.

I'm with EndymionMKII. They like to release a product that works well and isn't broken. Having no news doesn't make it vaporware. They have over 50 people working on the game.

Of course WOW Cataclysm is what they are focusing on at the moment as that's their biggest money earner but they only announced the game in 2008 with an initial release date of 2010 having a 1year delay is very common for most PC multi-player games.

You need to wait till its 2018 before you can claim it's like DNF

Crap... Looks like it is not going together soon... Otherwise they would release what they had and then series of patches... Come on Blizzard, we are waiting for you :)

Latest update to beta has changed the entire skill tree into skill + rune augment. Simplified and easier to choose.

Thanks for the update. Not sure why they are having people reserve a digital copy. I can see maybe reserving a download queue slot number or something - but not sure why they would have a limited digital version... Am I missing something?

Usually these digital copies pre-releases come with exclusive items.

That makes sense. So you'll always be able to download it, but only a limited number of downloads will allow the special items then if I'm understanding correctly.

Yeap, like in WOW you can get limited edition pets. The pets do nothing but follow you around but you know if they bought a collections edition or whatever based on the pet. I would assume they will do something similar in Diablo 3.

I just bought new RAM and will buy a new GPU.

Haven't turned my desktop on in about a year, but Diablo 3 will change that!

I couldn't sleep tonight for some reason, so i decided to go to the midnight launch.. It's still installing, but from what i'm hearing Blizzard really messed up and didn't make enough servers.. People that had the Digital download are still trying to log on.. I think its time for bed.. I'll try in the morning..
