    The only one that I remember is 0515GT and it's sister 0537GT, both Zagato bodies. Not quite the same; I think they had a round button for the release instead of the serrated part. I agree 300SL is a possibility.

    Every 300 SL photo I've found lacks the frame around the lever that OP's lever has. There's just a thin lever surrounded by Mercedes sheet metal. Additionally, the lock cylinder is separate from the lever. I think you can rule out 300 SL.
