    Hi All,

I bought my 1985 308 GTSi in 2000. (S/N 57563) I got to drive it for about a year before the rear head gasket started leaking. I'm not shy about doing my own mechanical work, so I set about repairing it. Long story short, one of the heads was seized in place so hard, NOTHING would take it off. A trip to the dealer and then 9 years of penetrating oil and hammering never budged it.

Between then and now, I lost my job, started my own company, raised a couple kids...then started working on the 308 again a couple of months back. Cut the head off and have been working on fixing all the stuff that goes wrong with a collection of parts that sit in a garage for 10 years. It's slowly coming back together.

Hope to have the car on the road by spring!

You deserve an award for perseverance.

Looking forward to lots of pics of your car when it is done.
Actually, it would be fun to see some pics before that - as your project progresses.

Great color on your 308. Which blue is that?

The color is Blu Chiaro Met. (503/C on the paint tag) Interior is Crema.

Perseverance? The head was mostly an "I refuse to accept it won't come off" type of thing. However, it eventually won as I decided I wanted to drive my QV again.

Aside from fixing the head gasket, the other "While I'm there" projects include SRI fuel and coolant hose upgrades, new clutch, the Unobtainium fuel injector line kit, and lots of cleaning.

Here's the car in the garage on stands:
