Just came back from my first proper blast though the hills in the Emira. Brilliant fun.

But one thing was obvious - I had completely the wrong shoes on. Not something I even thought about before I went, tbh.
But now that I’m driving an old fashioned car I found that my left shoe was occasionally catching when I went to use the clutch.

So, what do you lot recommend as a good, narrow, comfortable driving shoe?

I want something that does the job but doesn’t make me look like a clown when I get out of the car (well, at least no more of a clown than I look anyway.)

    Cheers

Steve, My E-type has limited legroom, never had an issue with a pair of Sparcos or Adidas gazelles.($140)

or you could go on the website.

Classic driver, as various firms sell on their shoes /gloves.

Or like many "fellows" drive bare-footed ....plenty of tribes have done it for 65,000 years .

Get a well-ventilated moccasin style, but it must have the sole wrapping up the heel. I often slip the shoes off and drive barefoot (so, no socks).

These are mine for the same reason as you and Rob as mine are size 11.
As I am a clown I don't GAF what they look like as you're not going out to dinner in 'em.
What Pat says is correct as well but the ones I bought are my going out to dinner Italian $240 jobbies.

Nah they were the only things I could find for size 11+ and hereditary bunions..
I can't drive the Morgan at all without 'em and clutch on Shagger is a pain..
    365 is ok without 'em.

Thanks all. Some excellent ideas. I don’t have massive feet (size 10) but the shoes I had on today were obviously too wide and not suited to spirited driving in a manual car.

Adrian, that is an interesting idea. I already have something like that at the beach house so may give them a go.

These from the company Rob posted are pretty much exactly what I had in mind.
    Bit steep, though!
