I'm going to be in Dubai on the 14th of Oct., I'm with two girls and we are staying at the Burj Al Arab and I understand it's Ramadan. So what's the deal, is this going to suck? Can we do anything? are all the businesses or restaurants closed? What CAN we do? I really hate to spend $2k a night to sit in my room and watch BBC world news.

    Thanks, Noel

Seeing the expat community and the fact that 40% of inhabitants is not muslim, honestly... you will be able to eat and drink in the bar and have the continental breakfast.
Btw, Ramadan is even more interesting. People are more hmm, "accessible".
