Engine mounts

355 vibrates and the mechanic says it is time to change all the engine mounts. He says it is a six hour job. I would assume much less. Any advice.

Are there any alternative mounts or do we have to stick to the original. As the mounts must be madevby somebody else is there another car brands mount that would fit on a 355.

 

Oem is the only way (I am aware) to go. There are two engine mounts and two transaxle mounts. Common wear item. I believe they run about $550 for all four, and it is about a two hour job.

Hell I did them on my BMW 540 (two engine, two trans mounts) in 40 minutes with the help of a buddy and his lift.

If you are reasonably handy, I would consider doing it yourself.

 

I just got all four replaced for around $1k parts+labor
