Cool. Glad to see people like that. I knew a guy who had a Carrera GT and put 15,000 miles on it in the first 3 years. No idea how many miles are on it now.

Very cool article. Awesome to see one of the drivers named his dog "Dino".

I solute all those who drive their Ferraris - not covet them.

Good to see Malcolm in there. No one else I know drives his vintage/classic Ferraris like he does.

Fun Read!!! And its why I drive my little 308 as MUCH as I can!!!

Didnt drive it today though - I preferred to have my Fords Heater when it was 25 degrees out this morning....

I was sad though...because I almost ALWAYS drive it at least on Fridays as many of you already know.

Franklin…A big thank you for posting! Any article with David SK Lee in it has to be a winner. And, the other owners were equally inspiring.

I bookmarked the article, so that the next time I read an F-chat thread about balky F1 transmissions, recalcitrant key fobs and immobilizers, sticky plastic parts, etc. that makes me question my dream of owning a Ferrari, I'm gonna go read this article…T

Great article and thanks for sharing! It's the same with me. Use the Ferrari for everything. Groceries are just the start!

That is basically how I believe you should own a car. I drive my 328 less now mostly because of the heavy traffic in mid town on weekdays. but I drive it a lot on weekends ... around town - its not uncomon to see me at the grocery store, starbucks, etc... and I generally park it wherever.

We use my Wife's 911 as our every day car, and I do have a company paid car - which is a nice perk becuase its literally free... no gas, no mtns, nothing... so while its not as much fun as the others ... its definatly the economical choice!

Awesome. I DD my 458 Spider, only 2700 miles after 1 year. 12 mile roundtrip commute FTW.

Agree. 2700 miles in a year? I would have put 15k on the thing.

That's not a DD car. That's a weekend car. My 308 will be a DD, I will only avoid bad weather, snow, and salty roads.

Did 5000km (3000 mikes) with my 456 in two months prior to the crash last year and enjoyed every single kilometer.
I am wondering about my new 456 with such actual low milleage=much higher purchase price and subsequent depreciation with an utilisation of about 10,000 km/year.
Well they are meant to be driven, the hec with depreciation we only live once.

I drive my 330 GTC as much as possible.
It can been seen here in Manning at the local restaurants, post office and Wal-Mart stores.
    On Sundays at my church.
    It is approaching 180,000 miles.
I occasionally drive it to the Lowes in Sumter where I have been know to put a few bags of mulch in the trunk.
I do indeed get some strange looks from people but, what the heck, it's still just a car.
I've owned it since November of 1975 and always treated it as a car, not a museum piece.

As to the condition, I must be doing something right because at the Car Club Jamboree in Hilton Head, South Carolina in November, 2013, it was awarded "Best of Show".

By the way, I am the OWNER, not the custodian!

A regular conversation I seem to have is:

"Is this right you own a Ferrari?"
    "I do!
    "Which one?"
    "I've got a 1990 348 TS"
"Ah - It's a weekend toy then? You don't use it for things like going to work in?"
"No, I take it to work when the weathers going to be okay"
    "Sunny days only then!"
"No, so long as it's not going to be pouring down with rain all day then I take the Ferrari"
    "Really?"
Yeah, really! It's a car at the end of the day. It needs to be driven and I love driving it! I never go straight home when I take it to work though, I take it for a nice long run"
"Aren't you worried about devaluing it by running the mileage up?"
"I didn't buy it to make money off it, I bought it to drive!"

Now I'm suffering withdrawal symptoms though because the roads are more salt than tarmac and it's just not worth ruining the car by driving on them! (Stupid winter weather! What ever happened to the Global warming I was promised? I was expecting the UK to become like California! )
