I enjoyed the dyno day and really appreciated being able to not only see everyones cars but also to hear them. As some know, my car has a home made cherry bomb exhaust on it and I am going to try to post a short video clip, if that's even possible. I think it sounds like a VW at idle, but over 3k it sounds decent. If this works, let me know what you think of the sound.

It does sound better when rev'd up. Perhaps some Ansa dual tips would bring back some of that "Ferrari" sound?

    Hi Tony,
Glad to meet you. You should of told me your Fchat handle so I could make the connection with the face. I was the guy with the yellow 308.

Oh, everyone knows Spasso!!!! Now that I am thinking about it, I should have put my car on the dyno. I wonder what it would have pulled given the fact that my exhaust has almost no restrictions in it.

It's great tool to see how your air/fuel ratio is and ignition performance. Maybe next year.

Anytime you make major changes to a car's stock exhaust system, you should have the air/fuel mixture sniffed to make sure you have the correct ratio dialed in.

You are probably running a bit "lean" with a glass pack exhaust system unless you've changed your main jets.

Talk to Spasso about the ones he's using in his '78.

I was still running stock 125 main jets with my ANSA sport exhaust and all indications pointed to a lean burn on the dyno last year 14.2 to 14.5 to 1.

I am told optimal is between approx. 12.7 to 13.3 to 1.

This year with the airbox mods and 140 main jets I ran about 12.2 to 12.4 to 1. Too rich so I am going back to the 135's.

Pull your plugs and put some new ones in (or clean the ones you have). Run the car on some spirited driving for a 100 or so miles and pull them again. The color of the plugs can ROUGHLY tell you where you are in A/F ratio. My 240 is on the rich side. Easy to tell, pull the plugs and they are a dull black.

I would try bumping up to 130 mains first. 130's are stock for the early 308's.

When I get my new air correction jets and find a dry day I may go dyno again to see how close I am on the A/F. Maybe you could meet me then and run your car.

If you are looking for jets you can ask on this site or contact Pierce Manifolds. Gurus........................
