    What do F1 drivers need to do in order to become drivers? There must be schools. Is it like spring training for baseball players? Anyone know anything about it?

    not sure on the exact procedure of obtaining one, but i think it is based on distance/#laps completed in an F1 car.

    it would be interesting to know the exact criteria though ...

    While I'm sure the FIA have some specific criteria, it wouldn't surprise me to learn that there was a "grey" area in the licensing process to use in cases like Kimi Raikkonen. Remember that he only had 20-some pro races under his belt before getting his.
